Roving Exhibition - The Art and Science of Conservation: Unlocking The Secrets Of Conservation In 10 Minutes

The Conservation Office is committed to safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations. To extend the care for these invaluable treasures to the public sphere, we hope to inspire community engagement and promote public awareness about the importance of conservation. This year, we are thrilled to stage our Roving Exhibition again to five new locations across Hong Kong, inviting you to discover the art and science of conservation!

What’s in our roving exhibition?

Through eight informative panels, this exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse of the principles of conservation, the tools and technologies we use, and the stories behind four highlighted case studies. You will gain a deeper understanding of the two essential conservation approaches—preventive and interventive, what conservators do, as well as their vital role and mission.

Moreover, the exhibition introduces common pests in Hong Kong and provides practical tips for pest control at home, encouraging you to apply these practices in your daily lives. At the end, you will get a glimpse of the prospect of our new conservation centre that offers exciting opportunities for career development in the field.

Meet the Experts!

For the first time, we are introducing a pop-up docent service—on selected Saturday afternoons, our expert conservators and passionate guides will share their knowledge in person and lead you in an interactive journey into the wonders of conservation. Whether you are filled with curiosity about conservation or wish to dive deeper into this field, don’t miss this rare chance to meet them!

Admission and pop-up docent service are all free. Welcome to join us!
